My philanthropic and nonprofit work focuses on communications, independent media, media policy and privacy. Within this frame I have a wide range of skills and bring humor and creativity to projects — from web content and social media to grantmaker education and nonprofit advocacy campaigns.
My work centers on the belief that people respond to personal and human stories, not statistics and jargon.
What my LinkedIn profile doesn’t say: When I was a child I wanted to be Prime Minister of the U.K., a prima ballerina with the Kirov Ballet and a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and sometimes a vet. I’m none of those things but came close to a couple.
